Eagle River PMTT Final Results

Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitors’ Center along with our local PMTT sponsors, (Eagle River Inn & Resort, Eagle Sports Center, Eagle Waters Resort, Bridgewater Inn, Chanticleer Inn, Hiawatha Motor Inn, and Trig’s) welcomed 91 teams of professional musky anglers to the Eagle River area over the weekend (June 26 & 27). These teams represented musky anglers from through out the United States and Canada.

Heroes on the Water Joins Forces with ArmyBassAnglers

The mission statement behind ArmyBassAnglers(ABA) is “SUPPORT. DEFEND. FISH.” Heroes on the Water (HOW) strives to help wounded warriors relax, rehabilitate and reintegrate through kayak fishing and the outdoors. ABA announces its support of HOW through a multi-year sponsorship to raise funds for HOW’s recreational and therapeutic activities for its twenty one National Chapters.

Yamaha Releases Statement on Use of Motors in Crude Oil Contamination

In the weeks following the BP®/Transocean’s® Deepwater Horizon oil spill, Yamaha has received many calls from concerned consumers to learn more about the operation of Yamaha outboard motors in crude oil contaminated water. There is very little data to support any assertions for how the products might react when exposed to them.

PVA-ORHF Bass Fishing Tournament Success for Veterans

The 4th Annual Bass Fishing Tournament near Warrenton, VA resulted in a superb turnout with plenty of bass boated by happy anglers. The majority of anglers were Purple Heart recipients, most of them from nearby Fort Meade in Maryland. The event was organized by the Paralyzed Veterans of America- Outdoor Recreation Heritage Fund (PVA-ORHF). Each angler was guided by a bass fisherman, who donated their time and provided their personal boats for the cause. Many of the fishermen compete in local bass tournament circuits.

Greg Hirsch Wins BFL at Lake Shelbyville

Greg Hirsch of Saint Jacob, Ill., caught a 5-bass limit weighing 14 pounds, 15 ounces Saturday, June 26, 2010 to win $3,337 in the FLW BFL Illini Division tournament on Lake Shelbyville. Hirsch was fishing secondary points in about 10 feet of water using Zoom Brush Hogs to reel in his stringer.
