Michael Skidmore Wins Early Times “Reel in a Million” Contest

Michael Skidmore of Chicago, Ill. was chosen randomly from among more than 10,000-plus entries. The 49-year-old will travel to Buffalo, N.Y. and Lake Erie on September 25 with pro Kevin Wirth. If Skidmore or Wirth catches one or more of the 25 tagged fish released into Erie, he’ll cash in on prizes. One of the tagged bass pays $1 million. Other potential prizes include a Triton boat, gift cards and assorted fishing gear.
Skidmore and Wirth will launch Saturday morning, Sept. 25, at approximately 8:00 a.m. from NFTA Boat Harbor on Lake Erie. They’ll have 8 hours total on the lake to catch a tagged bass.
FLW Walleye Tour To Visit Leech Lake For Championship Event

The FLW Walleye Tour will visit Leech Lake in Walker, Minn., Sept. 22-25 for the 2010 championship event. Hosted by the Northern Lights Casino top-20 anglers from each of the Eastern and Western Divisions will be sporting their talents for a prize worth as much as $40,000 in the Pro Division and $12,000 in the Co-angler Division.

Yamaha Motor Corporation Continues Sponsorship of BASS in Multi-Year Agreement

BASS, the worldwide authority on bass fishing, announced Wednesday that Yamaha will continue to support BASS for multiple years as an official engine sponsor of the organization. As part of the long-term agreement, Yamaha will serve as an official sponsor of the Bassmaster Classic, Bassmaster Elite Series, Bass Pro Shops Bassmaster Opens and BASS’ Federation Nation presented by Yamaha and Skeeter Boats.

Anglers to Fish 24 Hours Straight This Weekend

This weekend over 60 anglers from eight US states and Canada will attempt the fishing version of running a marathon when the Recycled Fish 24 Hour Fish-A-Thon presented by BoatUS Angler kicks off. Anglers will fish for 24 hours straight, with the goal to raise awareness of the environmental problems facing our waters, and raise money to help solve those issues.
