Once abandoned, they are then typically used for nature reserves or parks for water sports, camping and walking. Properly stocked and managed however, these man-made holes in the earth can become viable fisheries as well. Cruz Cope Wins BFL at Lake Cherokee

Boater Cruz Cope of Treadway, Tenn., caught four bass weighing 10 pounds, 7 ounces Saturday to earn $3,917 as winner of the BFL Volunteer Division tournament on Lake Cherokee.

Robert Stiltner Wins BFL at Lake Norman

Robert Stiltner of Mount Mourne, N.C., caught five bass weighing 16 pounds, 12 ounces Saturday to earn $3,926 as the winning boater in the BFL North Carolina Division tournament on Lake Norman.
